The Ranchers Demo Draws Big Crowds at Steam Next Fest
The free The Ranchers demo gave players a hands-on taste of farming, ranching and building during Steam Next Fest — and helped push the game past 350,000 wishlists.
Ahead of its Early Access launch, The Ranchers put a free demo in players’ hands during Steam Next Fest, and the response has helped cement it as one of the more anticipated country-life sims of the year.
The demo let players try the core loop first-hand — clearing land, planting and harvesting crops, raising animals, and building out a starter ranch — giving a clear sense of how the game balances cosy farming with its larger open world. For many, it was the moment the game’s pitch clicked: the relaxing rhythm of a farming sim, layered onto a sizeable world with mining, exploration and co-op.
That hands-on time translated into wishlists, with the game passing the 350,000 mark — a strong number for a debut title from RedPilz Studio.
If you played the demo, you’ve already seen the heart of the game; our demo and Early Access guide covers how the full Early Access build expands on it.
